Sometimes you hear it in the morning... the sound of melodies from a songbird welcoming the morning... sometimes you hear it on the streets, a chorus of car horns and laughter, a tinkling of chimes from a neighbor's house as the wind blows across washington desert hills... sometimes you hear it in the distance as a child hums a tune her mother taught her... its the sound of music, the sound of melodies. There is music everywhere if you listen for it, and that's what we do here at the Artisan Music House... we make music. Would you like to learn?
My name is Jennifer Harris. I teach classical piano. Here you will find all sorts of interesting and fun facts about music, piano, composers, music history, technique, developing your piano talent and skill, and lots of encouragement to keep training as a virtuoso pianist!
A Little Bit About Me
My name is Mrs. Harris and I am excited to start this musical adventure with you as you begin to learn how to play piano. I started taking piano lessons when I was seven years old. I took lessons for 10 years using the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum and training under ARCT certified music teachers in Canada. My credits include certificates in theory, music history & composition, and piano studies up to Grade 9 Piano in the Royal Conservatory of Music.
My love for piano has grown steadily over the years. With each examination, each lesson, and each grade accomplished, the desire to improve my skill & talent increased. Much dedication, determination and time was put into honing my skills. As my level of performance increased, it was a joy to sit down at any piano and begin to play beautiful melodies that captivated the attention of those around. My musical interest also expanded into that of church music, choir, oratorio, leading bands, arranging music for different instruments, writing my own music and eventually recording a cd of songs I had written.
Now, I am undertaking this exciting project of becoming a piano teacher to beginner students.
My hope is to instill in my students a love for music and piano, and to inspire them to work hard to achieve great results! A lot of hard work goes a long way!
